Distinguished Graduate Award

Established in 2027, this is a joint award presented by the Saskatchewan Agricultural Graduates Association (SAGA) and the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources. It recognizes outstanding alumni for significant professional or personal achievements that contribute positively to society. It serves to highlight the meaningful impact our graduates make across diverse disciplines and communities.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria


Eligibility: Nominees must be University of Saskatchewan graduates of any
program (Certificate, Diploma, Degree, or Post-Graduate) offered by the College
of Agriculture and Bioresources. SAGA membership is not required for a
nominee to be eligible for this award.

Distinguished Achievement and Societal Impact: The award honors
individuals who have demonstrated excellence or reached a high level of
success within their chosen field or personal endeavors. A core focus of the
award is the recognition of achievements that provide a clear and beneficial
contribution to society.

Integrity and Leadership: Nominees should reflect the values of the College
and the wider agricultural community through their character and dedication.

Nominations and Selection Process

Nominations: Nomination forms are available on the SAGA website (see below).
Nominations are accepted any time but must be received by September 1 to be
considered for January banquet.

Retention of Nominations: Unsuccessful nominations will be retained for three
years and may be reconsidered during that period.

Selection Committee: The committee will consist of two SAGA-appointed
members and two appointees from the College of Agriculture and Bioresources.
The SAGA appointed members will be two of the following three: Honorary
President, Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame representative, or Past
President.
